I fancy doing a clean Ubuntu install on my personal laptop (Work laptop is sticking with kubuntu LTS).

Which should I play with?

I want shiney (Gnome) and new, but I also want things to "work" :)

@bigcalm or give openSUSE Tumbleweed a whirl. That's always very shiny new stuff, and still very stable in my experience.
