Sigh. Every time you use zcat something.gz | BLAH, it'd be cool if zcat could point you to the error in your ways for the decades you didn't know zless existed for instance. I heard someone who wasn't me say. Just now. Defo wasn't me though.

@felimwhiteley `export LESSOPEN='|| lesspipe.sh %s'`, and you don't even need the `z`, you can just use `less` all the time.

@mavit That's pretty sweet (would I remember it if it wasn't set on another machine...hmmm) And checking mine it has one set in /usr/bin/lesspipe and it's fairly extensive, decoding all sorts of stuff and gz is even in there. I'd need to not think about it and trigger the issue wherever it was I may have been grepping etc. in fairness not using less. But this is very cool! Thanks!
