I'm expecting the new environmental monitor boards this week - temp, humidity, pressure, light, CO₂. But pondering ways to link to my Faikin boards. Obviously MQTT over WiFi, but no reason the new board cannot appear as a BLE announced remote temp sensor to work with Faikin. What would be cool is if Faikin can have option to advertise its status to be displayed on the environmental board LCD. Obviously buttons at some point would be great to make it a BLE remote for the Faikin.

I suspect a simple proprietary format will suffice both ways as part of BLE announce. That will want some thought.

Being able to set basic options remotely (target temp, mode, fan speed) would be good, and current temp as well. There are not many bits in BLE announce, but should be enough.

The other way is basically the same, indeed could be exactly the same, reporting current mode and current aircon measured temp.

This is coming together in my head now.
