Well this sounds like bad news.

@neil does it really matter at this point. There are a billion cheap Arduino clones and everything of any size or performance need is or has moved to esp, Pico or pi. It really feels like a legacy platform at this point, albeit one that was hugely important.

@etchedpixels @neil I always saw the success of Arduino as being building an ecosystem with low barrier to entry via free tooling and sdks, not the hardware.

I bet many ESPs and PIs are programmed via Arduino cores.

So it feels like Arduino as an ecosystem can survive, regardless of who might make some boards or publish the IDE.
