Surely e-bikes and e-scooters have much lower carbon footprint than electric cars. Also, they are much more affordable than an electric car (even a used one). I don’t understand why this isn’t pushed more as a way to decarbonisation. Personal e-scooters are effectively banned in the UK.

@rythie I wonder what the reason is. Vested interests? A lack of imagination? A desire to save the car industry? Bikes perceived as being for weirdos? A reluctance to admit we should have started building cycle lanes decades ago, or admit that we should be building them at all?
