In UK (where I am) Facebook is going to start using my data to train its AI. I apparently "have the right" to object. And *if* my objection is honoured, they won't use my data any more. Honest!
Follow-up. I objected: "I do not want my personal thoughts or photos to be used to train AI, given Meta's role in enabling fascists and other anti-democratic/ authoritarian movements in the world.", and received an email immediately promising they would honour my objection.
@brucelawson I suspect they honour the request regardless of what you write. I bet them asking a mandatory question to which one can't reasonably know the answer puts a lot of people off from submitting, though.
